About the artist.

Kathleen Marie Fifield was born and raised in West Texas. She grew up with one brother, three sisters and parents who encouraged her to be creative. She has always loved drawing. Even as a child, she remembers feeling alive when creating. She had dreams of working for Walt Disney as an illustrator, and although her childhood dreams were not realized how she imagined, her first career gave her the amazing opportunity to create with young artists on a regular basis. Kathleen has a degree in Art Education and taught for 14 years in the Salt Lake City School District. She recently said goodbye to teaching in public schools and is now homeschooling her daughter. This has also given her the ability to fully pursue her own passion of creating art to share with the world. Kathleen’s hobbies include gardening, modern quilting, reading, baking and camping with her family. She currently lives in Northern Utah with her husband & daughter. She hopes to some day live on several acres of land where she and her family can have a small homestead complete with a flower and vegetable garden, bees, horses, chickens and perhaps a few pigs and sheep. Oh, and an art studio behind the garden filled with natural light! She is kind of a dreamer.
